💡 Today's 5 Core Techniques
Impact Analysis
Evaluate a proposed change to identify its effect on scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and resources. Never skip this before the CCB.
Change Control Board (CCB)
A formal group that reviews and approves/rejects changes. The PM facilitates the data, but the CCB decides on baseline changes.
WBS Decomposition
Breaking down high-level project deliverables into smaller work packages. If it's not in the WBS, it's not in the project scope.
Requirements Traceability
Linking requirements to the deliverables that satisfy them. This ensures every requirement adds value and is actually built.
Gold Plating vs Scope Creep
Gold Plating is adding extra features for free (bad). Scope Creep is the client adding features without formal process (also bad).
